UPP currently has an exciting opportunity for a Multi-Skilled Technician (Electrical) to join our team. This is a permanent, part-time position working 37.5 hours per week from 09:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday. Salary circa £38,474.00. Location: Hull.
The Multi-Skilled Technician (Electrical) will work as a member of a team providing both planned and responsive maintenance services, specialising in electrical and mechanical repairs. Must carry a full clean driving licence. 1 in 3 on-call rota covering out of hours.
Responsibilities- Planned and Reactive Maintenance: Undertake maintenance within the residences in a safe working environment, assessing all Health and Safety issues before work commences and report any hazards identified to the relevant Manager.
- Reactive Maintenance: Carry out reactive maintenance in accordance with the Service Level Agreement and provide front line response for all electrical work.
- Preventive Planned Maintenance (PPM): Carry out PPM in accordance with the schedule.
- Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of breakdowns and maintenance repairs, including records for statutory compliance.
- Sub-contractor Liaison: Liaise with specialist sub-contractors.
- Statutory Testing: Carry out statutory testing including PAT testing, fire alarm testing, fire door testing and others, as required.
- Health and Safety: Report any Health and Safety issues relating to the residences, ensuring all information is passed to the relevant persons.
- Other Duties: Assist colleagues in other trades and locations as required. Undertake training as required. Participate in an on-call rota when required and be prepared to work additional hours, especially during main student arrival and departure weekends.
- Full clean driving licence.
- Experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance (planned and reactive).
- Willingness to participate in the on-call rota and to work additional hours during peak periods.
- Ability to perform statutory testing (including PAT, fire alarm testing, and fire door testing) and coordinate with specialist sub-contractors.
Offers of employment are subject to satisfactory vetting, including employment references covering the past three years and may include additional vetting and barring checks, which could include a basic DBS.
