A Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician specialising in plumbing and mechanical repairs is required for the Leeds team at UPP. This permanent full-time position is 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm. The role requires a current UK manual driving licence and a valid domestic gas safe qualification. Salary is £38,499 per annum plus overtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute preventive and reactive maintenance in line with the Service Level Agreement.
- Provide front-line response to all plumbing and mechanical work.
- Assess health-and-safety issues before commencing work and report hazards.
- Carry out preventive maintenance programmes and liaise with specialist subcontractors.
- Maintain accurate records of breakdowns, repairs and statutory compliance.
- Assist with statutory testing – fire alarm, extinguisher, blanket, detector checks, water temperature, shower head and emergency lighting.
- Lead building fabric stock management – ordering, storage, distribution of parts to meet SLA timescales.
- Support colleagues in other trades and share cross-trade skills.
Requirements
- Skilled plumber with experience in a maintenance environment and a range of repair work.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a commitment to high standards.
- Good understanding of operational procedures and safe working practices for building services and systems.
- Knowledge of health-and-safety regulations and ability to work safely.
- Willingness to work additional hours during peak student arrival and departure periods.
- Valid UK manual driving licence and domestic gas safe certificate.
