Key Responsibilities
- Independently review syndicate‑level capital, including capital across premium, reserve, market, credit and operational risks.
- Assess diversification, dependencies and key movements against benchmarks.
- Challenge assumptions and validation evidence.
- Assess compliance with the Capital Principle.
- Lead annual capital reviews, major model changes, deep dives, governance reviews, IMAPs and new market entrant assessments.
- Contribute to thematic reviews and market/regulatory communications.
- Serve as key point of contact for managing agents and their actuarial teams.
- Present clear, evidence‑based conclusions to the Actuarial Oversight Review Group (AORG) and respond confidently to challenge.
- Lead and coach junior colleagues, provide technical guidance, and take ownership of projects from start to finish.
- Support the Head of Capital Oversight in shaping the team’s direction and building capability; may have line management responsibility.
Qualifications & Experience
- Significant experience in non‑life insurance and capital modelling.
- Strong knowledge of actuarial techniques and capital regulation.
- Experience delivering and communicating complex analysis.
- Confidence leading work and supporting others.
- Strong stakeholder and project management skills.
- Familiarity with tools such as Excel and SharePoint.
- Qualified actuary with capital experience.
