We're looking for an Assistant, Direct Tax to join our Finance team in London.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data, solving problems and delivering accurate results.

Whether you're looking to build on existing tax experience or take your first step into a specialist financial services role, you'll gain valuable exposure to the tax affairs of the Lloyd's market and develop your technical knowledge in a supportive team.

What you’ll do

As part of our Direct Tax team, you’ll help support tax services provided to the Lloyd's market and contribute to the smooth delivery of key tax processes.

  • Identify taxpayer populations from internal systems for tax return preparation.
  • Validate, record and maintain data accurately across systems and databases.
  • Investigate and resolve data queries with market participants and stakeholders.
  • Support the preparation and submission of tax filings.
  • Analyse and present data for senior review and decision-making.
  • Complete reconciliations, identify discrepancies, and help drive resolutions.
  • Support annual system rollovers and operational processes.
  • Maintain clear and accurate procedure documentation.
  • Contribute to team and departmental projects as required.
  • What we’re looking for

You don't need to be a tax expert from day one. We're looking for someone who is curious, motivated and keen to develop. You’ll bring:

  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence working with Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • The ability to organise priorities and meet deadlines.
  • A proactive approach and willingness to learn.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively.

It’s a bonus if you have

  • Experience working with data.
  • Exposure to tax, accounting, financial services or insurance.
  • Experience in a customer‑facing environment.
