We are looking for an experienced and reliable MOT Tester to join our team in Blandford as we launch an exciting new Class 4 and Class 7 MOT Testing Centre. This is a unique opportunity to join from the very beginning, helping to establish and grow a brand-new area of our business. Working alongside our experienced agricultural and plant workshop team, you will play a key role in developing the MOT operation, maintaining high standards, shaping efficient working practices and delivering an excellent customer experience.

As an MOT Tester, you will be responsible for carrying out Class 4 and Class 7 MOT tests to the highest standards, ensuring all inspections comply with current DVSA regulations and internal workshop procedures. As part of our wider workshop team, you may also assist with servicing, inspections and repairs where appropriate, while helping establish our new MOT service as a trusted destination for customers across the local area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out Class 4 and Class 7 MOT tests accurately and efficiently in accordance with DVSA requirements.
  • Complete all MOT documentation and system entries correctly and promptly.
  • Identify, record and clearly communicate vehicle defects.
  • Help establish efficient processes and high standards within our new MOT Testing Centre.
  • Maintain excellent standards of safety, cleanliness and housekeeping within the MOT bay and workshop.
  • Keep up to date with annual MOT training and DVSA assessment requirements.
  • Work closely with colleagues to deliver excellent customer service and support workshop efficiency.
  • Assist with servicing, inspections, diagnostics and repairs where appropriate.

Essential Requirements

  • Current MOT Tester status for Class 4 and Class 7 vehicles.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and experience working with cars and light commercial vehicles.
  • Excellent understanding of DVSA MOT testing standards and compliance.
  • High attention to detail with a strong commitment to quality and safety.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a professional team.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.

Desirable

  • Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent).
  • Experience servicing and repairing light commercial vehicles.
  • Additional qualifications in diagnostics, EV/Hybrid, ADAS or air conditioning.
  • Previous experience within an independent garage, dealership or fleet workshop.
