Contract: 12-16 hours per week + regular overtime, permanent, part time. Varied shifts including early mornings from 6:30am, afternoons, late evenings until 10:00pm and weekends, to be discussed at interview. The role will also include working in our in-store bakery. Full, paid training provided.

You must be aged 18 or over to be a customer team leader at Co-op, as you’ll need to authorise age-related sales. We’re looking for Customer Team Leaders to join our team at Co-op. As a Customer Team Leader, you’ll be part of a friendly team that’s dedicated to helping our customers. We’ll look to you to help lead the store team – coaching and supervising our Customer Team Members and deputising for the Store Manager, while also delivering great customer service and performing a wide range of other tasks around the store like re-stocking shelves and cleaning up spillages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide friendly and thoughtful service every day, working in our in-store bakery often taking ownership for managing the store and handling challenging situations.
  • Develop your team’s capabilities through coaching and training, fostering an inclusive culture where everyone’s voice is valued and respected.
  • Ensure that the store remains safe, legal, and fully operational.
  • Support your store manager by deputising when they’re not working and delivering a variety of HR processes.
  • Lead the way when introducing new products and services in your store – work closely with your team to implement change and encourage open and honest feedback.
  • Build relationships and get involved in your local community, supporting your Store Manager with the delivery of the local Co-op community plan.
  • Strike a balance between leading and supporting your team and rolling up your sleeves on the shop floor.
  • Flexibility to work a range of different shifts.
