Funeral Service Crew - Coroner Service - 6 Month Fixed Term Contract
£13.24 per hour plus benefits
Full time 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday shifts 6:00-14:00/14:00-22:00/22:00-06:00 and working 1 in 3 weekends 6:00-18:00 or 18:00-6:00 on a rotational basis

Please note all positions within Funeralcare can involve direct physical contact with the deceased as part of normal duties – the amount of contact will differ depending on the role applied for.
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
- Preparation, transportation, and personal care of the deceased to be carried out with professionalism, dignity, respect and adherence to health and safety standards.
- Remove and transfer the deceased safely and respectfully to the designated mortuary or post-mortem facility, on behalf of the Coroner.
- Support the Coroner's investigation process by ensuring deceased persons are transferred promptly for examination or identification as required.
- Provide a professional and compassionate service when dealing with bereaved families.
- Work closely with the Coroner's Officers, police, healthcare professionals, funeral directors and mortuary staff.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation relating to transfers, collections and admissions.
- Maintain the cleanliness of equipment and facilities, including vehicles.
- Prepare coffins and engrave name plates.
- Assist in the care and preparation of the deceased to the highest standard.
- Ensure compliance with legal, health and safety and infection control procedures.
What you’ll bring:
- A full UK manual driving licence.
- A sensitive approach to customer service with good attention to detail.
- The ability to react calmly and compassionately in emotional circumstances.
- The ability to perform the physical aspects of the role (manual lifting).
