CO Manufacturing is the manufacturing hub of the £60 million turnover Conservatory Outlet Group, producing high-quality windows, doors, and conservatory roofs for a network of leading home improvement retailers, new build sites and trade businesses across the UK. Based in Wakefield, we combine advanced technology with skilled craftsmanship to deliver exceptional products that help homeowners transform their living spaces. Our success is built on teamwork, innovation, and a commitment to quality at every stage of the process from design and production through to delivery. We’re proud to invest in our people, offering hands-on training, career development, and the opportunity to grow within a business that values hard work and new ideas.
About the Role: You will take ownership of transport compliance across our manufacturing and distribution operation, supporting the safe and compliant movement of products from factory to site and customer. Working under the Head of Transport and Warehouse, you will be responsible for protecting our operator licence and ensuring our fleet, drivers, and systems fully meet all legal and regulatory requirements. This role sits above the day to day transport operation, allowing the Transport Manager to focus on scheduling and fleet coordination while you focus on compliance, risk, and control.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ownership of operator licence compliance across manufacturing and distribution sites
- Ensuring compliance with DVSA, Traffic Commissioner, and all road transport legislation
- Oversight of driver hours, tachographs, infringements, and corrective actions
- Managing vehicle compliance including maintenance schedules, MOTs, inspections, and defect reporting
- Ensuring vehicles are compliant for transporting manufactured products and site deliveries
- Preparing for and managing internal audits, external audits, and DVSA inspections
- Maintaining accurate compliance records, policies, and procedures across multiple sites
- Supporting investigations, incidents, and near misses with clear corrective actions
What we are looking for: We are looking for an experienced transport compliance professional who understands the demands of a manufacturing led operation and can bring structure as the business grows. You will ideally have:
- CPC qualification or strong working knowledge of CPC requirements
- Previous experience as a Transport Manager, Transport Coordinator, or Compliance Manager within manufacturing, distribution, or logistics
- Strong understanding of operator licence management and DVSA standards
- Experience managing tachographs, driver hours, infringements, and compliance systems
- A practical, organised approach with strong attention to detail
