Our client, a well-established construction company, is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious professional with 4–5 years of experience in the field to further their career on a variety of projects. The ideal candidate will have experience within commercial or residential brickwork facades and groundworks, as well as knowledge of CostX measuring software.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing detailed Bills of Quantities and carrying out take-offs.
- Measuring and remeasuring works carried out on-site.
- Monitoring project costs and ensuring works are delivered within budget.
- Preparing valuations for interim applications for payment, including variations.
- Managing document control and ensuring project records are up to date.
- Pricing variation orders and submitting these to clients.
- Supporting materials coordination for live projects.
- Negotiating costs and prices with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
- Attending and contributing to on-site meetings.
- Providing general administrative support as required.
Candidate Requirements
- 4–5 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor.
- Background in commercial or residential brickwork facades and groundworks.
- Proficiency in CostX software (desirable).
- Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Highly organised and detail-oriented.
