With an excellent reputation for reliability, innovation, and client satisfaction, they are now seeking an experienced SHEQ Manager to join their team and play a key role in shaping the company’s continued success.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) professional with a strong construction or civils background to take the next step in their career.

As SHEQ Manager, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the company’s SHEQ systems across multiple sites, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards. Reporting directly to senior leadership, you’ll lead the charge in promoting a culture of safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement throughout the business.

You’ll act as the primary point of contact for all SHEQ matters, drive behavioural change, conduct audits and inspections, and ensure that all operational teams fully understand and adopt best practice in safety, quality, and environmental management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain an Integrated Management System (IMS) in line with ISO standards and legal requirements.
  • Act as the company lead for all external accreditations (ISO, CHAS, Constructionline, etc.).
  • Lead incident and near-miss investigations, ensuring lessons are learned and actions completed.
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments across multiple sites.
  • Provide clear and actionable management reports on SHEQ performance and compliance.
  • Support tenders and bids by ensuring SHEQ requirements are fully embedded.
  • Deliver SHEQ training, toolbox talks, and behavioural safety initiatives.
  • Advise on CDM regulations, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Promote a proactive safety-first culture, ensuring full compliance with company and statutory obligations.
  • Champion innovation and best practice to enhance performance across all projects.

Skills & Qualifications

  • NEBOSH Diploma (or working towards it) / NEBOSH General Certificate (essential).
  • Strong working knowledge of CDM regulations and ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 management systems.
  • Proven experience in a SHEQ Manager or similar role within construction, civils, or structural sectors.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Confident conducting audits and managing compliance documentation.
  • Membership of IOSH, IEMA, or similar professional body (preferred).
  • Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
  • Proficient in SHEQ reporting tools and data analysis.
