We are looking to recruit 1 full-time Team Administrator for our Community Paediatrician Service at the Alexandra Avenue Health and Social Care Centre. Our Community Paediatrician Team works with children who have complex needs, disabilities or long-term conditions, enabling them to achieve their maximum potential.

Main duties of the job: The post holder will be responsible for providing efficient and high-quality administrative support to the Community Paediatrician Team, and will be an integral part of their team in order to maintain smooth running and operation of their service, working closely with the Line Manager, Operational Manager, Administrative Team, and Clinical Staff. The post holder will have excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to communicate effectively with service users, carers, health professionals and team members. In addition, the post holder must possess good IT skills and be able to analyse and interpret data. They will be required to help maintain clinical database systems, and assist with clinical audits and information monitoring. The post holder will work under own initiative with a flexible and adaptable approach to the job role in order to meet the changing service needs. This role will involve a high level of discretion and confidentiality as the post holder will come into contact with some sensitive patient and staff data and information.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities: JOB SUMMARY To work in an administrative team and to provide a comprehensive, high quality administrative and information support to Harrow Children’s services based at Alexandra Health and Social Care Centre. To have responsibility for data entry and maintenance of the database systems. To liaise with clinical administrative staff both within and outside the department. To contact with patients and other relevant external agencies. To provide administration support and cover for other members of the administrative team and to the other services within Children’s Services when required.

Qualifications: GCSEs or equivalent in Maths and English NVQ3 in customer service, office administration or relevant subject. BTEC Level 3 or equivalent.

Experience: Excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Experience using IT applications and computer systems. Demonstrable knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, MS Teams and Excel. Good organisational skills – ability to use initiative, prioritise workload. Experience of working in a health or social care setting. Knowledge of Patient Appointment/Database Systems i.e. SystmOne.

Skills: Accurate data entry and typing skills; able to work to a high level of accuracy and with attention to detail. Ability to work unsupervised as well as part of a team. Excellent time management skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines and prioritise workload. An understanding of the importance of confidentiality and dealing with sensitive information.

Personal Qualities: Self-motivator, able to manage a demanding workload. Good inter-personal skills, ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to change.
