Senior Administrator - Community Musculoskeletal (MSK) team, Clayponds Hospital, Ealing. The role supports medical secretarial tasks, manages MSK waiting lists and booking processes, and assists the Referral Hub (St Bernards Hospital, Southall). Previous administrative experience and medical secretarial skills are essential. Competence in E‑RS and SystmOne is highly beneficial.
Responsibilities
- Provide medical secretarial support for the MSK clinical service team and assist referral processes via E‑RS.
- Manage demand and capacity for MSK waiting lists, coordinate appointment booking with the Referral Hub, and liaise with service users, carers and health professionals to maintain efficient, high‑standard communication.
- Request transfer of diagnostic images and reports to support clinical care.
- Draft, type, check and send discharge letters, onward referrals, reports and clinical update letters.
- Create RTT documentation and other enclosures for onward referral to hospital via E‑RS.
- Monitor patient pathways to ensure compliance with waiting‑time standards and escalation of issues promptly.
- Oversee waiting lists and capacity within the service to enable timely booking of appointments via the Referral Hub.
Qualifications
- GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths.
Experience
- Significant experience in an administrative capacity.
- Knowledge of the SystmOne database.
- Understanding of Equal Opportunities and Diversity.
- Understanding of Data Protection / Confidentiality.
- Experience working in an NHS setting.
Skills
- Demonstrable knowledge of MS Word, Outlook and Excel.
- Accurate data entry skills, minimum typing speed 60 wpm.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
