Job overview

The Head of Strategic Transformation is a Trust wide role which will work across the Operational Divisions of the Trust, and corporate teams. Its key functions are:

  • Portfolio Delivery & Execution: Mobilize, lead, and run complex, cross-organisational transformation programmes agreed by Divisional Managing Directors. These include service level change in physical and mental health, and infrastructure changes including benefit realisation frameworks.
  • Governance Ownership: Establish, manage, and optimise Trust-wide change frameworks, ensuring consistent reporting, milestone tracking, and risk management.
  • Cross Divisional Enablement: Partner with divisional leadership teams to unblock operational barriers, build change capability, and ensure transformation is successfully embedded into daily clinical operations.
  • Performance & Benefit Realisation: Implement robust mechanisms to measure, track, and report on the operational benefits and clinical outcomes of transformation schemes.

Main duties of the job

CNWL is in the process of revising our Trust strategy, developing a set of strategic aims we believe maintain the Trusts reputation as a modern health service. These are:

  • We will set the standard for neighbourhood care, so people consistently experience seamless, community-based support close to home.
  • We will intervene early, and place young people at the centre of our work.
  • We will be a leader in our sector for transforming healthcare using Digital, Data and Research.

The postholder will need to be able to lead complex programmes, drive delivery at pace and delegate work to others to enable successful implementation as required. The post will be expected to show clear leadership, reporting to senior leads within and external to the Trusts on high profile work programmes and work streams.

You will be based in a central strategy/ transformation function but work in close partnership with our divisional Business and Transformation structures, to align and embed a joint way of working.

Please note: This vacancy does not meet the criteria for Skilled Worker sponsorship, unless you meet the criteria by temporary exemption from current changes to immigration rules put in force on 22/07/2025.
