As a Producer reporting to the Senior Producer on the Digital Products & Services’ Programming team, you will apply sharp editorial judgment, multimedia skills and close attention to audience needs as you curate CNN's home surfaces, send alerts and support optimisation efforts for US and international audiences. This role requires exceptional news judgment, urgency and attention to detail. You'll help drive audience engagement, making decisions that affect how millions experience news. We are a highly collaborative team that works across global news teams, distribution editors and audience partners to ensure CNN's journalism is presented with clarity, creativity and impact. Strong communication skills are a must.

Your Role Accountabilities

  • Seamlessly curate and package around the day’s agenda across digital formats (live, video, articles, photo galleries, graphics, interactives) to inform, engage, and entertain US and global audiences.
  • Deploy top-notch editorial and news judgement to support clear and engaging framing of CNN journalism.
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy, fairness, timeliness, and editorial integrity across all surfaces and alerts.
  • Apply strong understanding of the daily news agenda, as well as appreciation for what draws and engages audiences beyond it.
  • Recognise programming and audience needs proactively and collaborate with senior team members to improve the daily offer.
  • Apply real-time and long-term audience insight to guide story placement, optimise engagement, and inform decision-making.
  • Participate in post‑mortems and strategic conversations to shape programming approaches that balance editorial excellence, audience needs, and business goals.
  • Draft and send alerts in collaboration with newsroom colleagues and senior producers.
  • Optimise content in collaboration with editors and senior programming producers to create compelling, mobile‑friendly presentation, including crafting accurate, engaging headlines and running A/B tests.
  • Work effectively in the CMS and publishing tools to ensure smooth and accurate updates to home surfaces.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience in digital news and publishing, including time spent curating home surfaces.
  • Familiarity with analytics, A/B testing, and content optimisation.
  • Strategic thinking and creative problem‑solving abilities.
  • Understanding of digital content across multiple formats, including video.
  • Experience with content management and digital publishing tools.
  • Must be able to adapt to a 24/7 news environment. Early morning, evening and holiday work may be required as news and team rota demand. Weekend work is required as part of the normal weekly schedule.

Onsite Working

This role is advertised as Onsite, meaning all working hours and days (regardless of shift pattern) will be carried out at the place of work. Subject to any applicable laws, WBD / your Line Manager reserves the right to change this working agreement, where this is essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice to you.
