Your Role

The Video Newsdesk internship is the fuel that fires the furnaces of news telling at CNN. The intern will multitask and create high‑quality content for both digital and broadcast, coordinate live reporters around the world, source, check, and fact‑check video for all CNN platforms during our hours. Working on a follow‑the‑sun model, the ability to react to, digest, and cover proactively and deliver to deadline is key.

Accountabilities

  • Find video to either break stories or accompany them
  • Request reporters
  • Reach out to press offices for statements and source video/images
  • Ensure reporters are informed about upcoming live appearances and liaise with show producers to ensure smooth operation
  • Program video into stellar to be put online

Qualifications & Experience

  • Undergraduate or postgraduate journalism degree (not essential) or equivalent vocational training and a portfolio of work/content (e.g., blogs, podcasts, YouTube channel)
  • Experience working in team environments, ideally under strict deadlines
  • Ability to work quickly, manage time and multiple priorities effectively
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Passion for international news
  • Proactive and ready to take on any task
  • At least one foreign language is a plus

Internship Details

  • Salary: £29,000 p/a (pro rata)
  • Contract length: 6 months
  • Start date: 1st September 2026
  • You will gain hands‑on experience working on business‑critical projects
  • You will have access to personal and professional development courses, executive speakers’ series, special screenings and more
  • You will be part of our Early Talent network of over 100 interns & apprentices, with an important support network of other students, graduates and apprentices, and plenty of opportunities to socialise

Work Arrangement

This role is advertised as a hybrid work model, combining remote and in‑office work, in line with company policy and to be agreed with your line manager. Subject to applicable laws, Warner Bros. Discovery reserves the right to change the working agreement where necessary and upon reasonable notice.
