Key Responsibilities

  • Perform basic material handling activities: unloading trucks, receiving parts, material movements, order fulfilment, cycle counts and inventory error investigation.
  • Identify, label, pick parts and move to the correct manufacturing production cell.
  • Perform SIGIP transactions pertaining to material control requirements.
  • Perform stowing procedure of inventory from vendor.
  • Analyse and recommend solutions to material control problems.
  • Train new employees as required.
  • Utilize power lifting equipment: pallet truck, forklift, stand-up, etc.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, have sufficient knowledge of all equipment used by department and any safety requirements during its operation.
  • Help maintain positive work environment.
  • Maintains clean work area.
  • Constantly work to improve processes
  • Make suggestions for productivity improvements
  • Train and guide new warehouse workers.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other team members

Key Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year warehouse experience in Material Control and Material Handling basic job functions
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts and applications is preferred
  • Maintain accurate paperwork and documentation
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal, relationship building, and dispute resolution skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent multi-tasking and organizational skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and within tight time-lines
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to manage inventory
  • Excellent problem resolution skills, with ability to proactively recommend solutions and improvements to existing workload
  • Safety conscious

Key Competencies and Behaviours

  • Based on individual job duties, this position may require the applicant to successfully complete employer training program to qualify for certification as Powered Industrial Truck / Forklift Operator; and must undergo periodic re-evaluation and re-certification at least once every three years to ensure that skills remain at a high level
