Job Purpose Reporting to the New Holland Tractor Sales Leader, the Area Sales Manager has the responsibility to develop sales and share of market for New Holland Agricultural machinery, also managing the business relationships with the assigned dealers.
Key Responsibilities
- Driving and supporting dealers to win retail contracts to achieve share of market.
- Managing orders from the dealers to maintain appropriate levels of inventory to satisfy retail and wholesale business.
- Contribute to the dealer’s Annual Business Plan and setting of Dealer sales forecasts and objectives.
- Drive proactive Sales App use and champion CRM as a sales management tool.
- Ensure that all marketing programs and policies are fully understood and utilized by the dealer sales force to achieve targeted sales.
- Control and apply variable marketing funds through the order management system.
- Encourage attendance on Sales and Product Training courses to ensure Dealer sales staff are knowledgeable and are able to sell the New Holland features and benefits.
- Maintain a knowledge of competitive models and specification.
- The organization and support the delivery of promotional events, demonstrations, open days, customer evenings, factory visits and product presentations.
- Regular dealer visits are a core part of the job and customer visits will form a major part of the role.
- Spend an appropriate amount of time with customers in support of Dealer activities to maximise market share potential and provide necessary direct market feedback.
- Coach the dealers to achieve a higher dealer standard result.
- Coordinate the quarterly business meetings with dealers, to include Sales, Capital, Service, Parts, Precision Farming and Marketing.
Experience Required
- An appreciation and interest of sales and product related activities associated with agricultural machinery in particular Tractors, Telescopic handlers, Guidance Systems (nice to have).
- Computer literacy to a high standard.
- Experience in a Sales or Marketing environment.
- A full clean driving licence is required as a job car is provided.
- People skills are essential and the ability to handle difficult situations with dealers and customers.
- Outstanding negotiation skills and capability to close the deal.
- Ability and discipline to work independently, as well as in a team.
- A self-starter with a positive mental attitude, enthusiasm, and a willingness to take responsibility for personal performance.
- The job will require extensive travel within the territory and overnight stays within the UK.
- Occasional overseas travel.
