Job Purpose

The Quality Operations Engineering Intern will be a problem solver for the Basildon Tractor Plant and ensure that quality standards are met whilst efficient production is maintained.

They will respond to quality issues arising daily and will work on projects utilizing lean manufacturing tools and methods throughout.

Key Responsibilities

  • To understand and appreciate the significance of our products and our high-quality standards.
  • Capture, collect, analyse and report data on quality issues throughout manufacturing.
  • To be knowledgeable on the processes and standards required.
  • To identify and understand the quality losses and to initiate root cause problem solving activities.
  • Design, create, maintain and own quality data dashboards to monitor performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • To gain proficiency with the Plant Operating Systems and use them to manage your project portfolio.
  • To liaise continuously with the relevant departments (Engineering, purchasing etc.) to drive the progression of projects.

Experience Required

  • Degree or equivalent, (or currently studying) in a relevant field of study; Engineering (Automotive, Electrical) or Data Analytics.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of data analysis and visualisation tools including advanced Excel, Power Automate, Power BI.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Product, market / customer knowledge experience is a benefit.
  • Knowledge on quality methodologies, QMS and quality control systems are beneficial.
  • Fluency in English (other languages are a plus).
  • Must be a self-starter & able to work on own initiative.
  • Must be a team player and open to taking the lead in applicable cases.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Flexible working attitude.
