CNC Recruitment are seeking experienced Production Operators to join our client in Beaminster – a well-known global food production company. This role requires individuals with a strong work ethic and attention to detail, ensuring the daily packing plan is completed safely, cost-effectively, and to the highest quality standards.

Location: Beaminster

Job type: Temp to perm, permanent after 12 weeks

Salary: ÂŁ14.30 an hour, weekly pay through CNC Recruitment

Working hours: rotating shift pattern of 4,5,5,4; shifts alternate between 07:00 – 19:00 and 19:00 – 07:00 (11‑hours paid), requiring extended standing periods.

Job Purpose:

  • Complete the daily packing plan safely and cost‑effectively while maintaining and achieving the highest standard of quality.
  • Always maintain Health & Safety and quality.
  • Help support the development of a “best in class” packing operation.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Generic Responsibilities:

  • Follow all hygiene standards ensuring GMP is always maintained.
  • Actively ensure the working area is clean and tidy using appropriate methods, ensuring PPE is used accordingly.
  • Work efficiently with the team and support any other areas as needed.
  • Adhere to all food standards, such as IFS and QDMS, ensuring a safe and controlled work environment.
  • Remove all rubbish and recycle where necessary.
  • Follow company procedures regarding PPE usage for the area and job role.
  • Comply with food safety and quality culture policies.
  • Attend all organised training sessions across the site.
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Standard Practice Instructions (SPIs) relevant to the role.
  • Report any quality or safety issues to the shift manager.
  • Assist in integrating and training new starters, providing a welcoming and supportive environment.
  • Participate in training activities as required.
  • Undertake additional duties as reasonably required.

Role‑Specific Responsibilities:

New Starter End of Line (A Grade)

  • Complete the new starter induction pack and modules 1 & 2 of the general operator training guides.
  • Cover all End‑of‑Line (EOL) processes, including pallet formats, quality checks, and safe working practices.
  • Escalate any concerns as needed.
  • Assist the operator in the daily running of the line.

Heat Seal or Envelope String and Tag (B Grade)

  • Take full responsibility for efficiently running the line.
  • Set up the line at the start of the shift, completing pre‑start checks.
  • Ensure conformance to the packing plan using the correct tea and packaging.
  • Set printers with correct batch, product, and date information, verifying and recording details.
  • Accurately record all running information, including 20‑minute checks and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Minimise start‑up and changeover times while maintaining hygiene and quality standards.
  • Escalate any defects, faults, or issues promptly.
  • Complete shutdown or handover procedures effectively.
  • Ensure correct SAP process usage and accurate data entry.
  • Accurately record all downtime information using the OEE iPad.

Runner (B Grade)

  • Assist the End‑of‑Line operator as required.
  • Ensure smooth production flow by providing necessary packaging and materials.
  • Account for and return all unused materials to the warehouse.
  • Monitor the hopper floor to ensure a timely tea supply to the correct line.
  • Wrap and remove pallets, verifying information against the packaging plan.
  • Store completed pallets in the correct warehouse location.

Heat Seal and Envelope String and Tag (C Grade)

  • Take full responsibility for efficiently running the line.
  • Complete pre‑start checks at the beginning of the shift.
  • Ensure adherence to the packing plan using the correct tea and packaging.
  • Configure printers with the correct batch, product, and date details.
  • Record and analyse running data for fault‑finding and process improvements.
  • Minimise start‑up and changeover times while maintaining hygiene and quality standards.
  • Complete shutdown or handover processes effectively.
  • Ensure SAP system accuracy and correct data entry.
  • Accurately record downtime information on the OEE iPad.
  • Support operator and new starter training following SOPs and SPIs.
  • Liaise with the Training Manager and production trainer to enhance training methods and update SOPs/SPIs.

Technical Operator (D Grade)

  • Take full responsibility for efficiently running the line.
  • Set up the line at shift start, completing pre‑start checks.
  • Ensure compliance with the packing plan using correct materials.
  • Configure printers and record relevant batch, product, and date information.
  • Record and analyse running data for process improvements.
  • Minimise start‑up and changeover times while upholding quality and hygiene standards.
  • Execute shutdown or handover procedures effectively.
  • Ensure accurate data entry in SAP.
  • Accurately record downtime information on the OEE iPad.
  • Assist in training operators and new starters.
  • Work with the Training Manager to refine training processes.
  • Assist engineers with breakdowns when required.
  • Support operators in troubleshooting minor breakdowns and escalation of major issues as necessary.

Working Environment:

  • Provided PPE includes food‑grade coats, mop caps, beard snoods (if applicable), high‑visibility vests (warehouse only), steel toe‑capped shoes, and eye protection.
  • May require attendance at meetings in an office environment.

Qualifications/Education Standards & Skill Level:

  • Food Safety Level 1 Certification.
  • Competency in numeracy, written, and spoken English.
