CNC Recruitment are seeking a skilled CNC Turner to join our client in Sherborne area β a well-respected engineering company. The successful applicant will be required to set and operate the FANUC controlled, modern turning centres. These comprise of single spindle, twin spindle, B Axis mill/turn and sliding head CNC machines.
Job type: Temp to perm, permanent for the right candidate
Working hours β Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 4.30pm and Friday 7.30am to 1.00pm
Salary β Β£32k to Β£36k per annum, depending on experience
Responsibilities:
- Set, and operate FANUC controlled turning centres, including single spindle, twin spindle, B Axis mill/turn, and sliding head CNC machines.
- Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications to create accurate and efficient CNC programs.
- Ensure all machine setups are correct and aligned with the specifications.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure smooth operation.
- Monitor machine performance during production, making adjustments as necessary to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Collaborate with other team members to meet production deadlines and resolve any machining issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety guidelines.
Requirements
- Proven experience in CNC setting, and operating FANUC controlled turning centres.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Experience with both turning and milling operations, including B Axis mill/turn and sliding head machines.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Familiarity with CNC machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of quality control standards and precision measuring tools
