Overview:

CNC Recruitment is currently seeking Production Operators to join our client in the Henstridge area, one of the largest metal fabrication companies in the UK. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating machinery and ensuring the efficient production of goods.

Job details:

  • Type: Full-time, permanent
  • Location: Henstridge area
  • Working hours: Monday to Friday

Shifts and salary:

  • Morning Shift, 6.00am to 2.00pm: £23,800 – £30,000 per annum
  • Mid Shift, 2.00pm to 10.00pm: £27,370 – £34,500 per annum
  • Night Shift, 10.00pm to 6.00am: £30,940 – £39,000 per annum

Salary: As per above, depending on experience, plus benefits, plus discretionary bonus. The salary range includes shift premiums where applicable. All training is provided on the day shift (6.00am to 2.00pm), so initially, only the basic salary applies, with potential increases based on experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Operating manual and CNC machinery for metal processing
  • Processing steel to customer specifications and tolerances, ensuring full traceability within the quality system
  • Reading drawings and orders, following verbal instructions, and training others as needed
  • Operating forklifts, combi-lifts, and cranes safely and in a controlled manner
  • Performing daily equipment checks before shifts
  • Preparing orders for loading, including banding, palletising, and bagging
  • Loading and offloading plates and parts from plasma and laser machines
  • Using measuring equipment to identify and locate steel products
  • Maintaining clean and tidy work areas
  • Reporting accidents, incidents, machine faults, and breakdowns to supervisors or managers
  • Attending training courses as required
  • Following all safety procedures and reporting hazards
  • Contributing to quality and environmental management systems to ensure quality products and reduce environmental impact

Experience with measuring equipment, reading drawings, forklifts, combi-lifts, or side loaders is required.
