CNC Recruitment is working with a leading aerospace manufacturing business to recruit a Masking Operator to join their production team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a keen eye for detail who enjoys precision work in a manufacturing environment. You'll be responsible for preparing aerospace components for coating and finishing processes, ensuring the highest quality standards are maintained throughout production.
The Role
As a Masking Operator, you'll prepare, mask and finish aerospace components prior to coating processes. You'll use a variety of hand tools, masking materials and preparation techniques to ensure components meet strict quality and customer specifications. Working closely with production teams, you'll play a key role in maintaining product quality while ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Wash, clean and degrease components prior to treatment and coating.
- Prepare components using hand tools and small power tools.
- Apply masking tapes, stopping-off lacquer and other masking materials to protect designated areas during coating.
- Carry out wax masking processes where required.
- Remove masking materials and de-burr components following treatment.
- Perform abrasive cleaning and component preparation.
- Maintain the condition and integrity of components throughout the production process.
- Follow detailed verbal and written work instructions.
- Safely identify, handle and dispose of materials in accordance with company procedures.
- Support other production departments as required to meet business demands.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Comply with all Health & Safety and quality procedures.
What We're Looking For
Experience
- Previous experience within manufacturing, aerospace, engineering or a production environment is desirable.
- Experience with masking, component preparation, finishing or assembly would be advantageous.
- Experience using hand tools and small power tools.
- Full training will be provided for candidates with the right attitude and aptitude.
