CNC Recruitment are seeking a skilled CNC Miller to join our client in the Sherborne area - a well-respected engineering company.
Job type: Full-time, permanent
Location: Sherborne
Working hours: Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 4.30pm and Friday 7.30am to 1.00pm
Salary: £34,500 - £37,000 DOE
The Role: Our client is looking for a skilled CNC Miller Setter/Operator to join our growing team. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with a passion for precision engineering and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and set CNC milling machines to produce components to exact specifications.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and CAD models.
- Set up tooling, fixtures, and rotary units for efficient machining processes.
- Perform routine maintenance to ensure machine reliability.
- Conduct quality checks using precision measuring instruments.
- Collaborate with colleagues to assemble and inspect parts as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment.
- Support warehouse operations including materials handling and inventory.
What We're Looking For:
- Strong mechanical knowledge, particularly in milling and tooling.
- Experience in a workshop or manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in basic maths for accurate measurements and calculations.
- Experience working with Heidenhain CNC controls is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with CAD software and logic controllers is a plus.
