The Role
As a Production Operator, you will play a key role in the assembly and manufacture of specialist electrical and optical cable assemblies, ensuring all products are built to the highest quality standards.
- Build and assemble specialist electrical and optical cable assemblies and wiring looms.
- Carry out soldering, crimping, stripping, and cable termination to a high standard.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, assembly instructions, and customer specifications.
- Perform quality inspections throughout the manufacturing process to ensure products meet exact specifications.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production processes and product quality.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Experience producing electrical or optical cable harnesses.
- Confidence using hand tools and working on precision assemblies.
- The ability to read and work from technical and customer drawings.
- Experience with soldering, crimping terminals, optical terminations, and wire harness assembly.
- The ability to follow detailed work instructions and production processes.
- Experience working to IPC standards would be advantageous, although full training can be provided.
- Experience using a variety of production equipment and tooling.
- A proactive approach to maintaining tools and keeping an organised workspace.
- A continuous improvement mindset with a focus on quality and efficiency.
