CNC Recruitment is working with a leading aerospace manufacturing business to recruit a Masking Operator to join their production team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a keen eye for detail who enjoys precision work in a manufacturing environment.
You'll be responsible for preparing aerospace components for coating and finishing processes, ensuring the highest quality standards are maintained throughout production. Whether you have previous masking or aerospace experience, or transferable skills from a precision manufacturing environment, full training will be provided for the right candidate.
The Role
As a Masking Operator, you'll prepare, mask and finish aerospace components prior to coating processes. You'll use a variety of hand tools, masking materials and preparation techniques to ensure components meet strict quality and customer specifications. Working closely with production teams, you'll play a key role in maintaining product quality while ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Wash, clean and degrease components prior to treatment and coating.
- Prepare components using hand tools and small power tools.
- Apply masking tapes, stopping-off lacquer and other masking materials to protect designated areas during coating.
- Carry out wax masking processes where required.
- Remove masking materials and de-burr components following treatment.
- Perform abrasive cleaning and component preparation.
- Maintain the condition and integrity of components throughout the production process.
- Follow detailed verbal and written work instructions.
- Safely identify, handle and dispose of materials in accordance with company procedures.
- Support other production departments as required to meet business demands.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Comply with all Health & Safety and quality procedures.
What We're Looking For
Experience
- Previous experience within manufacturing, aerospace, engineering or a production environment is desirable.
- Experience with masking, component preparation, finishing or assembly would be advantageous.
- Experience using hand tools and small power tools.
- Full training will be provided for candidates with the right attitude and aptitude.
