CNC Recruitment is seeking skilled CNC Machine Operators (Milling, Turning) to join a reputable client in the Chard area. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced operators who take pride in their precision and independence, with potential to secure a long-term or permanent position.

Location: Chard, Somerset

Pay Rate: £16.00 - £19.00 per hour, weekly pay

Contract: Full Time Permanent

Shifts Available:

  • Mon - Fri (5-day) 08:00 - 17:00
  • Mon - Fri (5-day) 06:00 - 14:00
  • Mon - Thu (4-day) 07:00 - 17:15
  • Mon - Thu (4-day) 07:45 - 18:00

Key Duties:

  • Operate CNC machinery (milling, turning) to produce high-quality, high-tolerance components.
  • Set up and run machines as required (programming not necessary, but setting experience is beneficial).
  • Conduct self-inspections of produced parts to ensure they meet specified tolerances.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and make minor adjustments to keep production running smoothly.
  • Follow work instructions, safety guidelines, and production schedules.

Role Allocation:

  • 2 x CNC Milling Machine Operators
  • 2 x CNC Turning Machine Operators

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a CNC machine operator within a precision engineering environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and measuring equipment.
  • Confidence in self-checking and adjusting machine settings with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in setting machines is highly advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Flexibility to work days initially, followed by transition to night shifts.
