CNC Recruitment is working with a successful and growing business in Yeovil to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join their finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous accounts experience who is looking to develop their career within a supportive and fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will provide day-to-day support across the finance function, ensuring financial records are maintained accurately and efficiently. The Role
As an Accounts Assistant, you'll support the Financial Controller with the day-to-day running of the accounts department. You'll be responsible for processing purchase and sales ledger transactions, credit control, reconciliations and general finance administration while ensuring accuracy and attention to detail at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Process purchase invoices and match them against purchase orders and delivery notes.
- Raise sales invoices and credit notes.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve invoice queries.
- Carry out credit control, including chasing overdue payments professionally.
- Allocate customer and supplier payments.
- Perform bank and account reconciliations.
- Assist with month-end accounting procedures.
- Maintain accurate financial records using Sage 200.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers and internal departments regarding account queries.
- Manage account stop and release procedures where required.
- Maintain organised financial records and filing systems.
- Provide general administrative support to the finance team.
What We're Looking For
Experience
- Previous experience in an accounts or finance administration role is preferred.
- Experience using Sage Accounting or Sage 200 is advantageous.
- Experience with ERP systems, such as Tricorn, would be beneficial.

Skills & Knowledge
- Good understanding of purchase ledger and sales ledger processes.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload.
- Confident written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team.
