Location: Chard, Somerset

Salary: Β£33,000 - Β£36,000 DOE + Overtime (1.5x)

Job Type: Permanent | Full-Time

Hours: Monday – Thursday 8am – 5pm Friday 8am – 1pm

The Opportunity

CNC Recruitment is working in partnership with a leading precision engineering manufacturer to recruit an experienced Quality Inspector. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business that supplies high-quality precision components to industries including rail, energy, defence and automotive.

Working from a modern manufacturing facility, you'll play a key role in ensuring products meet customer and industry quality standards while benefiting from ongoing training, career development and a great work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out first-off, in-process, goods-in and final inspection of precision-engineered components.
  • Inspect CNC machined components using a range of manual inspection equipment.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Complete quality inspection reports and maintain accurate records.
  • Identify and report non-conformances, supporting corrective actions where required.
  • Work closely with production teams to improve quality standards and manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure compliance with customer and industry quality requirements.
  • Maintain a safe, organised and quality-focused working environment.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience as a Quality Inspector within a precision engineering or CNC manufacturing environment.
  • Experience inspecting CNC machined components.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Competent using manual inspection equipment such as verniers, micrometers and gauges.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • A proactive attitude with a commitment to maintaining high quality standards.
