CNC Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Construction Estimator / Purchaser to join our reputable client based in the Ilminster area. This is a permanent, full-time position ideal for a motivated individual with a strong background in construction estimation and materials procurement. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting construction projects from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring cost-effective purchasing and accurate project estimation in line with client specifications and budget constraints.

Job Types: Full Time Permanent

Location: Ilminster area

Working hours: Monday to Friday, day shift – 40 hrs per week (overtime available)

Pay: DOE

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates based on tender documentation and architectural/engineering drawings.
  • Developing cost plans, design-to-cost budgets, and feasibility studies to support project planning and client decision-making.
  • Reviewing and interpreting structural and architectural drawings to produce precise material take-offs.
  • Conducting supplier negotiations to source quality materials and ensure value for money.
  • Maintaining close communication with project managers, engineers, and site supervisors to align on materials and costs.
  • Monitoring project costs and updating forecasts throughout the lifecycle of the build.
  • Ensuring all procurement complies with internal policies and aligns with client requirements.
