Responsible for:
- Lead customer estimating activities for the estimating department
- Provide commercial support to the engineering Cost Of Sales (COS) function.
Main Purpose and Scope of Job:
- To estimate customer quotations using best practice methodology.
- To manage estimating activities between the estimating team.
- To provide commercial support in relation to engineering Cost Of Sales.
- To review lessons learned from COS data and implement ideas for future cost savings.
- Help to drive continuous improvement programs within the department.
- To closely support the engineering team to meet customer demand.
- Where required, introduce process documentation, in line with the company Business Management System (BMS).
Knowledge & Skills:
- Understanding of processes in a precision engineering environment.
- Experience in delivering cost saving initiatives.
- Ability to organise workload within a small team.
- Understanding of engineering processes, tooling and fixtures.
Key Accountabilities:
- Estimating CNC machined parts, ensuring quotes are produced in a timely manner.
- Preparation of cost estimates to support the acquisition of new business to include relevant requirements.
- Work with Supply Chain to order materials to customer specification.
