Leads both Operations Resiliency and Facilities teams. The role is responsible for the strategic development of robust capabilities, processes, operational discipline and systems, which ensures CNA is operationally resilient in the face of disruption and an ever-changing operating environment, and for leading the management and maintenance of facilities across CNA's European office locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Leads and advises the Leadership Team to define the Company’s operational resilience strategy and compliance with prevailing regulations.
- Manages the Operations team ensuring the effective delivery of the Company’s operations service and strategy.
- Responsible for building and maintaining long-term, sustainable relationships within a matrix organisation locally and internally.

- Operational Resiliency
- Responsible for development, implementation and embedding of the operational resilience strategy.
- Responsible for overseeing the governance of operational resilience and delivering papers for relevant committees and to the Leadership team.
- Responsible for analysing vulnerabilities in CNA operational resilience capabilities and develops solutions to mitigate impact.
- Builds strong working relationships with vendors to ensure they are effectively driving and delivering upon the CNA value proposition.
- Manage the resilience of important business services and critical resources.
- Leads and manages Regulatory Self-Assessments for Board approval.
- Manages CNA's Business Continuity Management (BCM) related activities in partnership with the US Business Resilience Team.
- Analyses business process plans, technology and vendor dependencies, and recovery strategies to ensure effective resiliency.
- Sets the strategic direction of the governance, execution, and maturation of the Business Continuity Program and Crisis Management Program.
- Leads incident response coordination to promptly and effectively identify and recover capabilities when disruptions occur to business activities.
- Develops complex scenarios and executes tabletop exercises and working sessions to develop corporate capabilities to respond to incidents expeditiously.
- Provides leadership and direction to continuity and recovery teams during a crisis.
- Leads the Facilities team across Europe, driving a high-performance culture.
- Development, maintenance and implementation of property policies in partnership with the US Procurement & Corporate Real Estate Team.
- Reviews service provisions and develops strategies to improve service delivery in a cost-effective way.
- Ownership and management of the Facilities budgets in CNA Hardy, including related service contracts.
- Supports the negotiation and agreement of annual budgets and capital planning proposals.
- Development and implementation of CNA's health and safety strategy.
- Manages vendor relationships and performance.
- Develops the Third Party Governance Framework ensuring consistency across CNA with the TPRM lifecycle.
- Develops a robust Third Party Governance Framework to identify, measure, monitor and manage the risks across CNA, in line with the risk appetite.
- Identifies and remediates inherent risks and control gaps.
- Develops outsourcing monitoring frameworks.
- Develops the outsourcing agreement exit strategy where required.
- Experience of leading a Business Resilience & Facility Management team.
- Experience of relevant International Standards for resilience, risk management, information security, service continuity and health & safety (ISO 27001, ISO22301, ITIL etc.).
- Certification to relevant industry bodies such as; BCI, DRI, CISSP, IRM desirable.
- High level understanding of digital technologies (e.g. infrastructure, applications, mobile apps, mass notification etc.).
- Strong knowledge of key regulatory standards related to operational resilience.
- Real estate management experience, ideally across Europe.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to influence stakeholders at a senior level.
- Ability to negotiate in a complex matrix environment.
- Experience leading a high-performing team and developing talent.
