Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Horticultural Engineer role based in the Kingston upon Hull, England Metropolitan Area.

The Horticultural Engineer will install horticultural systems, including irrigation, and screening components for glasshouses Daily responsibilities include

  • Maintain and develop a good business relationship with the company’s customers.
  • Respond promptly to customer enquiries and call-outs.
  • Install, test, service and repair customers’ equipment in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Evaluate and resolve problems.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in a safe manner and in accordance with the company’s Health and Safety Policy, Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
  • Ensure all stock, tools and equipment for which you are responsible are kept clean and stored safely and tidily.
  • Ensure worksheets, timesheets and expense receipts are submitted as per company guidelines, and communicate this requirement to others.

The role involves troubleshooting and optimizing existing installations, collaborating closely with project managers and clients to deliver efficient, installations.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of horticultural engineering, including irrigation, and screening systems for glasshouses
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications and engineering documentation,
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work on-site with multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
  • Experience in the food, floricultural, pharmaceutical, or agrotechnical sectors is an advantage.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites within the UK and a valid driving license are essential. up to 70% of works will require travel
