Our client is a leading Hotel and Property Group that is currently looking to recruit a Financial Controller for a new hotel in Belfast City Centre.

The Financial Controller will play a key role in positioning the hotel competitively within the Belfast market. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a landmark launch.

You will take full responsibility for the day-to-day financial operations of the hotel. Working closely with the General Manager and department leaders, you will ensure timely, accurate, and high-integrity financial reporting.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Producing accurate financial reports, including revenue forecasts, cost and profitability analyses, P&L accounts, and budget packs.
  • Reporting and reconciling daily revenue.
  • Overseeing purchase orders and invoice processing, ensuring correct coding and timely supplier payments in line with financial policies; managing supplier queries and statement reconciliations.
  • Liaising with payroll for processing, BACS payments, and monthly PAYE reconciliations.
  • Managing credit control to ensure debts are collected in line with policy, including debtor and creditor reconciliations.
  • Preparing monthly management accounts in line with financial policy and bank reporting requirements.
  • Ensuring all balance sheet accounts are reconciled and actioned monthly.
  • Implementing and supporting property operating policies and procedures.
  • Coordinating documentation for financial audits.

Experience/Requirements

  • Proven track record as a Financial Controller within the hotel industry.
  • Confident, articulate communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong process orientation and a positive approach to change.
  • Ability to coach and support team members.
  • Highly organised, systematic, and deadline-driven.
  • Analytical, detail-focused, and proactive.
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with financial systems; experience with Sage Line 50, Alkimii, and Procure Wizard is an advantage.
