The Role
You will play a key role in ensuring the safety and security of people, property, and assets across the estate. You will be part of an experienced in-house team providing / coverage, delivering a visible and professional security presence while upholding the organisation’s values and standards. The role includes a mix of day and night shifts on a on / off pattern.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct regular foot patrols to ensure the security and integrity of buildings, facilities, and grounds.
Monitor and control access for residents, tenants, staff, visitors, and contractors.
Manage the movement of vehicular and pedestrian traffic across the estate.
Handle keys responsibly, logging issue/return and reporting any discrepancies.
Respond to incidents, investigate as appropriate, and liaise with management and police as necessary.
Operate and monitor security systems including CCTV, access control, fire, lift, and intruder alarms.
Open and secure entrances at designated times.
Answer telephones and respond to queries in a courteous, professional manner.
Maintain detailed records, including logs of incidents, lost/found property, and shift handovers.
Act as a bank escort when required.
Monitor and support contractor access and activity.
Ensure effective communication between team members at shift changeovers.
Remain vigilant and alert throughout the shift to identify and respond to any unusual activity.
Person Specification
Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence.
Physically able to conduct foot patrols and manage stair access within buildings.
Strong written and spoken English skills.
Professional and proactive approach to safety and security.
Confident dealing with the public and able to manage phone and face-to-face enquiries.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office and security system applications.
Desirable
SIA CCTV (Public Space Surveillance) Licence – training can be provided.
First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid certificate – training can be provided.
