About the role
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Infrastructure Specialist to lead the support, maintenance, and continuous improvement of our organisation’s critical IT infrastructure. This role is essential in ensuring the security, availability, stability, and performance of both on-premises and cloud environments while driving innovative projects that enhance scalability and operational efficiency.
In this role, you can expect to get involved in a variety of work including:
Infrastructure Management & Operations

Manage and support enterprise IT infrastructure including Windows/Linux servers, networking, storage (NetApp ONTAP), Citrix, VMware, and cloud platforms (Azure, Windows 365).

Administer and optimize virtual environments and multi-cloud services to ensure performance, reliability, and scalability.
Backup, Recovery & Business Continuity
-
Design and maintain robust backup and disaster recovery solutions using Commvault, Rubrik, and Zerto.

Ensure data protection and business continuity through regular testing and compliance with RTO/RPO targets.
System Optimisation & Automation
- Implement scalable infrastructure aligned with business needs, leveraging automation for patching, monitoring, and routine tasks.
- Conduct capacity planning and performance tuning across systems and platforms.
Incident Response & Support

Monitor infrastructure health, resolve incidents, and perform root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.

Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation and provide timely after-hours support when required.
Collaboration & Documentation

Work closely with internal teams on IT projects, cloud migrations, and compliance initiatives.

Maintain accurate technical documentation, SOPs, and system architecture diagrams.
About you
Technical Skills & Experience

Operating Systems: Strong experience with Windows Server and Linux.

Virtualization: Expertise in VMware vSphere, including vCenter and ESXi host configuration.

Cloud Platforms: Hands-on Azure experience (VMs, storage, networking, policies, AAD, and cost management); exposure to multi-cloud environments (AWS/GCP) is a plus.

Storage & Backup: Working knowledge of NetApp ONTAP, SAN/NAS, CIFS/NFS, Snap technologies, and enterprise backup tools (Commvault, Rubrik, Zerto).

VDI: Experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (XenApp/XenDesktop) and Windows 365 Cloud PC administration.

Networking: Solid foundation in TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and SNMP.

Automation & Monitoring: Familiarity with scripting, containerization, monitoring tools, and infrastructure-as-code is desirable.

Preferred certifications: CCNA/CCNP, MCSA/MCSE, VCP-DCV, Azure Administrator/Architect, CCA-V, CCP-V.
