Manual Machinist (Multi Skilled) required for local engineering machine shop. We are looking for a fully skilled manual machinist who is able to work on conventional mills, centre lathes and grinders in a busy workshop environment. Candidates with XYZ CNC experience have an advantage. Fitting or welding experience would be an advantage. The candidate must be able to read engineering drawings and machine to tight tolerances, working as a team member among experienced machinists. Working with a variety of materials from mild steel, stainless, tool steels to plastics. Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.

Hours: Monday to Friday 8.00 to 4.00. Full driving licence essential. References will be required. Competitive salary to be discussed.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate conventional mills, centre lathes and grinders in a busy workshop.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings; work to tight tolerances.
  • Collaborate effectively as part of a team with experienced machinists.
  • Work with a variety of materials including mild steel, stainless steel, tool steels and plastics.
  • Maintain quality and safety standards while meeting deadlines.
