Overview
CMS is looking for an experienced Legal Technologist to join the Legal Technology team. The Legal Technologist serves as a key member of the Legal Tech Delivery team, providing expert support for legal technology tools and solutions across the Firm. They act as an escalation point for Legal Tech Support Analysts, deliver tool demonstrations, and contribute to the design and build of medium-complexity solutions under supervision. Collaborating with Senior Legal Technologists and Solutions Engineers, they assist in the delivery of more advanced solutions. The role also involves supporting system upgrades and new tool implementations through structured testing and feedback, assisting with onboarding new team members, and driving engagement with legal technology through training sessions and presentations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a deep understanding of the Firm’s suite of legal technology tools, acting as a subject matter expert and point of reference for both internal stakeholders and colleagues.
- Act as a point of escalation for Legal Tech Support Analysts for more complex user queries received via the team mailbox, ensuring high-quality and timely support.
- Play an active role in onboarding new Legal Tech Support Analysts, delivering training and introducing them to tools, processes, and best practices.
- Offer day-to-day support and guidance to Legal Tech Support Analysts, helping to upskill junior team members and promote a collaborative working environment.
- Conduct tailored demonstrations of legal technology tools for various stakeholder groups, helping to drive understanding, engagement, and adoption across the Firm.
- Attend solution scoping meetings to understand legal team and client requirements, providing input on potential legal tech solutions with support from a Senior Legal Technologist or Solutions Engineer for more complex matters.
- Develop and implement medium-complexity legal tech solutions, with supervision where appropriate, ensuring outputs meet quality, usability, and compliance standards.
- Assist Senior Legal Technologists and Solutions Engineers in the design, configuration, deployment and maintenance of complex legal technology solutions.
- Support system upgrades, new tool implementations, and feature rollouts by participating in structured testing processes.
- Represent the Legal Tech team in internal and external meetings to raise awareness of legal technology capabilities and their benefits, including delivering live system demonstrations.
- Deliver training sessions, workshops, and presentations on legal technology tools as part of the Firm’s Learning & Development programme, tailored to various user groups.

A good knowledge of legal technology tools including HighQ, Kira, Legatics, Contract Express and AI platforms is required.
