Insurance Associate – Sheffield
CMS UK is seeking an experienced Insurance Associate to join our Defendant Clinical Negligence and Regulatory team in Sheffield. The role is PQE+ and involves working across a wide range of complex, high‑value clinical negligence and insurance matters, including financial lines, W&I, marine, re‑insurance and cyber risks.
About the Role
- Key responsibilities include drafting and advising on binding authority agreements, claims handling agreements, service agreements and TOBAs; defending professional indemnity disputes; providing general regulatory advice on matters such as the General Medical Council, inquests and inquiries.
- You will work closely with leading clients such as the Medical Defence Organisation, major insurers and brokers, delivering highly commercial advice and building your own contacts and network.
- The position is based in Sheffield but applicants based in Manchester will also be considered.
About You
- You have gained experience at a recognised clinical negligence practice, City, insurance or major regional or leading international firm.
- You possess excellent drafting skills and can deliver practical, commercial advice in a client‑facing role.
- You demonstrate sound judgement, strong interpersonal and project management skills.
