We are looking to recruit two experienced Immigration Associates to be based in one of our key UK offices which can be Glasgow, Edinburgh, Manchester or Sheffield.
About The Role
An exciting opportunity to contribute to the continued growth of CMS UK, as we create these new positions and expand our UK Immigration practice. We are looking for one Associate with approximately 2‑6 PQE and one Senior Associate with 6 PQE+.
As an Immigration Associate you will be advising commercial clients, including FTSE 100 companies and household names. We offer a supportive environment where the team are genuinely interested in and enjoy the work that they do. You will be working with a specialist immigration partner, with the immigration team sitting as part of our highly ranked Employment group with over 50 lawyers in the UK.
Your work will be fast‑paced and offer huge variety, covering the full spectrum of business immigration law matters including:
- day‑to‑day immigration advice
- sponsor licence applications and compliance duties
- visa eligibility assessments
- business visa support and advice
- guidance on the prevention of illegal working and related enforcement action
- corporate and commercial transaction support
- global mobility / international assignment support
- immigration advice linked to employment and HR issues
- strategic projects such as compliance with new legal requirements and audits
- business development activities
- training to clients
Our UK team plays a central role in the market‑leading international CMS Employment Group and regularly advises clients on cross‑jurisdictional projects and matters with an international angle.
About You
You will be an Immigration Associate or Senior Associate who has the desire and ambition to support the continued development of our successful, dynamic and highly collaborative team. You will be well‑organised, proactive, personable and have excellent written and oral communication skills. You will also be adept at keeping on top of regular changes in UK immigration law. A strong academic record and lots of enthusiasm are a must as we will be keen for you to hit the ground running.
