We have an opportunity for an Associate to join our Insurance and Reinsurance Team in our Edinburgh office.

About the Role

The Insurance & Reinsurance Group are busy and continue to grow. They are looking to hire into the Edinburgh team at the 4 PQE+ level. The team handles a wide range of market leading matters including:

  • Wide ranging professional indemnity disputes, particularly defending claims against finance professionals, solicitors, insurance brokers.
  • Financial lines, W&I, cyber risks.
  • Complex policy coverage matters.
  • National and international construction all risks disputes, insurance policy coverage disputes, and insurance advisory matters.

You will have the opportunity to work with an enviable client base, including many of the leading insurers and major brokers. The team is known for being friendly, highly commercial in their advice, and offers the prospect of working closely with key clients, alongside being encouraged to develop your own contacts/network in the market.

About you

We will invest in your ongoing training and development to support your professional goals and help you to thrive in your role from day one. Our opportunities are open to all suitably qualified applicants, so to be considered for this role, you must meet the following skills and experience:

  • Scottish law or dual qualified. Willingness to become dual-qualified is desirable if currently not dual qualified.
  • Experience gained at a good commercial firm in Scotland (or E&W).
  • Looking for people 4-7 PQE ideally.
  • Excellent drafting skills and ability to deliver practical and commercial advice.
  • Sound judgement, good interpersonal and project management skills.
  • Experience in professional indemnity and financial lines classes of business, or extensive coverage experience in other classes.
