PAY: £10.00 PH

Shifts will be 12 hours in duration 0700-1900, 1900-0700 following 7 days on 3 off followed by 7 days on 4 days off shift patterns.

Working for a leading and well-established facilities management company, our client is looking for a CCTV Operator to join their team. The CCTV Operator can expect to work along the CCTV team, monitoring the wide network of CCTV.

Your main duties:

  • To monitor and patrol via view-screens effectively and to take any remedial or immediate action and notification as appropriate to events seen or informed about.
  • To record all events and actions taken in a clear, legible and accurate format. Record these onto a computerised format and any other media required.
  • To maintain personal integrity and confidentiality of all information obtained within the CCTV Control Room, at all times, whether written, verbal or by any other means.
  • To ensure all equipment is functioning correctly, carry out equipment checks as required, and to inform immediately all required personnel of faults found. Report all faults in accordance with CCTV Operating Procedural Manual.
  • To ensure security and cleanliness of the CCTV Control Centre and ensure equipment is maintained satisfactorily at all times. Ensure access procedures are followed in accordance with the Assignment Instruction and Operation Procedure Manual.
  • To communicate with the council’s units and external agencies in a professional and courteous manner at all times.
  • To conduct Moving Traffic enforcement in accordance with instructions for times instructed by the Council and to have gained the relevant qualification needed to enforce.
  • To remotely monitor the Councils Car Parks via CCTV and Intercom Help Points and provide customer service and remote assistance to customers.
  • To operate the Councils emergency out of hour’s switchboard, taking calls on behalf of Environmental Health, Environmental Services, Building Control, Sheltered Housing, Social services as required and provide information to members of public.
  • To assist the Major Incident Team with any emergency situation that may arise.
  • To control the Town Centre Traffic Management Bollards system in accordance with the councils procedures.
  • To assist Police officers’ conduct CCTV reviews.
  • To operate and respond to the Radio network.
  • To monitor the traffic flow and highlight any issues to Deputy or Manager and provide information and regular updates to the Council Environmental Services Team.
  • To operate and respond to the Police Radio.
  • To undertake any special operational duties as required or instructed by management and perform any other tasks or duties which the person is reasonably expected to or instructed to undertake.
  • To extract data from digital recorders, copy evidence onto media and complete documentation and provide witness statements in accordance with control room procedures.
  • Ensure proper documentation is completed before any media is removed by Police or any authorised personnel as laid down in the assignment instruction and operating procedure.
  • Understand and follow site Assignment Instructions and Operating Procedural Manual as issued by the site CCTV Manager.
  • To pay due regard to the company’s Health & Safety Policy. Conduct check calls as required by the site Assignment Instructions.
  • To act as relief to cover other staff duties during periods of absence, as and when required.

Qualifications or Required Experience:

  • To have successfully completed an SIA approved course and hold a valid CCTV (PSS/MPPV1/2) Operator and Door Supervisor licence.
  • Full clean driving licence required.
