CMS Recruitment are currently working with a very well known Engineering company based in Gateshead. They are currently looking to recruit for a Quality Technician. As part of the Quality department reporting to the Quality Engineer and Group Quality Manager, this position is to manage the Q.A. engineering aspects of delivering new / transferred / current assembly / stamping tools, processes and equipment in line with Customer approval processes and supporting production requirements.
Key Accountabilities:
- Liaise directly with all relevant customer(s)
- Support internal and Customer containment activities
- Support all relevant customer concerns raised using 8D methodology
- Oversee the investigation of internal concerns
- Complete detailed product and process audits in accordance with IATF16949
- Assist in the training of personnel in all aspects of business processes
- Initiate all supplier raised concerns and support supplier management process
- Quarantine Log & Area maintenance
- Containment and rework analysis press & assembly
- Containment List - Reduction / Inspection improvement
- Carry out routine and non-routine testing (where applicable)
- Conduct periodic capability studies, MSA, revalidations and calibration
- Maintenance and improvements to documentation when required
- Provide support with all CI, Business Improvement Matrix and Quality Road Maps
- Carry out inspections and testing where required
- Jig making and maintenance
- Support engineering activities
- Translate assembly drawing requirements into measurement set-ups
Key Experiences and Qualifications:
- Computer literate; Microsoft Office Skills
- Auditor skills
- Problem solving skills
- Ability to plan workload
- A current driving licence
- Experience of cosmetic panel manufacturing processes and assembly operations required
- Understanding customer drawings and specifications
- Quality, Engineering and tooling skilled
Desirable Skills and Experience Required:
- Previous experience conducting audits within a manufacturing environment
- Minimum of 2 years experience working within Automotive / Off highway
- Assembly technical skills
- Jig making skills
- GD&T qualification
- IATF 16949 Auditor qualification
