A large social housing maintenance specialist is looking for a skilled and experienced commercial gas engineer that can work alone on commercial plant rooms and occasionally domestic boilers. This well-established management team will support and train the suitable commercial gas engineer on a contract that they have had for over 15 years. This role is a Monday to Friday 42.5 hour week with no call out rota or weekend work required.
Responsibilities:
- Service, maintenance and breakdown of commercial and domestic gas and solid fuel heating systems.
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance.
- Undertake PPM activity.
- Complete paperwork including production of technical and situational reports.
- Report all accidents, near miss events or potential hazards.
- Undertake all other maintenance works within remit.
- Participate in out of hours works, including overtime & call out.
Requirements:
- Solid background in Commercial gas and heating.
- Relevant commercial gas qualifications NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent, ideally including CODNCO1, COCN1, ICPN1, CIGA1, CDGA1, TPCP1, TCP1A, CCN1, CENWAT and applicable domestic qualifications.
- Desirable qualifications: COMCAT, CCCN1, CCLNG1 OFTEC, LPG, ASHP, UNVENTED and Solar/Renewable.
- Excellent gas knowledge of current gas legislation and regulations.
- Local authority/social housing experience with knowledge of a variety of Commercial/Domestic appliances and installations.
- Comprehensive technical skills along with extensive experience in commercial fault finding and rectification.
- Knowledge of major manufacturers i.e. Valliant Powermatic, Riello, Broag, Combat, Ambi-Rad, Ideal, Potterton, Nu Way and Worcester.
- Good all-round knowledge of heating systems with controls/BMS knowledge desirable.
- Good plumbing skills.
- Full driving license.
- Understanding of Health and Safety and working to best practice.
