CMS Recruitment are currently working with a very well known Engineering company based in Coventry. They are currently looking to recruit for a Manufacturing Team Leader.

Role Overview

They are seeking a proactive and experienced Manufacturing Team Leader to oversee daily production operations within their manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will manage the team in order to achieve output targets whilst maintaining quality and health, safety and environmental standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity to lead a dynamic team, optimise manufacturing efficiency, and ensure safety and quality standards are maintained throughout all operations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain Health & Safety and Environmental Standards
  • Ensure team members are aware of the quality standards required
  • Supervise and Manage: Oversee daily operations of the team, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Motivate Team Members: Inspire and encourage team members to perform at their best, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Set Goals and Objectives: Establish clear performance goals for the team and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Delegate Tasks: Assign responsibilities based on team members' strengths and skills, ensuring optimal task distribution.
  • Provide Training and Support: Offer guidance and training to team members, helping them develop their skills and improve performance.
  • Monitor Performance: Track team progress and performance, providing constructive feedback and coaching as needed.
  • Communicate with Management: Act as a liaison between the team and upper Management, reporting on progress and addressing any issues that arise.
  • Able to retain and distribute information to the team
  • Participate in root cause investigation via 8d methodology
  • Encourage continuous improvement throughout the team
  • Develop and implement cost saving ideas
  • Hold briefings with team members as required
  • Use the maintenance system to identify tools or assets that require repair/refurbishment
  • Identify training needs of team members and arrange for training as necessary
  • Ensure team members understand how they are doing, including formal performance reviews.
  • Pass off production runs as required
  • Setting of equipment (Presses or Assembly processes) in line with formal training
  • Operating equipment when necessary to meet customer requirements.

Requirements

  • Able to demonstrate strong leadership and motivation
  • Able to communicate, and monitor performance against, output and quality standards
  • Basic IT Skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and an MRP System
  • Good numeric and literacy ability
  • Punctual and good attendee
  • Monitor process/machines with authority to close them down if product quality, procedures and/or work instructions are not compliant with laid out standards
  • Competency in MS Excel and Word
  • Follow defined escalation process and take appropriate action relating to poor Quality, Cost and Delivery Performance
  • Act on behalf of the company during internal, supplier and customer meetings, representing the company's best interests at all times
  • Enthusiastic. Good organisational skills.
  • Able to identify problems and provide solutions.
  • Able to communicate effectively.
  • Positive attitude. Pro-active.
  • Ability to display practical hands-on skills

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Company accreditations IATF16949, ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001
  • Experience in discipline and grievance procedures
  • Experience of a press shop or assembly environment, including power press & assembly setting.
  • Knowledge of MFG PRO
  • Ability to either drive through change (self-reliance, challenging and determination) or adapt to change (flexibility).
  • Ability to get the job done (attention to detail, decisiveness and organisation and planning ability).
  • Ability to work with others to get the job done (communication and influencing skills, team working skills and customer focus).
