CMS Recruitmentare seeking hardworking Plasterer on a permanent basis to join our well know construction & regeneration client working across Northumberland.

Role Purpose:

To provide a high-quality plastering service across occupied homes, empty properties (voids), and corporate/facilities buildings. The Plasterer will ensure all repairs, refurbishments, and planned works are completed safely, professionally, and with minimal disruption to tenants and building users. The role ensures properties are maintained to a safe, lettable, and compliant standard.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out plastering tasks including skimming, bonding, rendering, patching, plaster boarding, dot & dab, and full-room replastering.
  • Complete general pre-paint repairs including filling, making-good and finishing to a high standard.
  • Work safely and respectfully in occupied homes, ensuring customer comfort and minimal disruption.
  • Prepare surfaces, remove damaged plaster, and assess underlying structural issues.
  • Support void refurbishment teams to ensure properties meet re-let standards.
  • Follow all Health & Safety policies, including use of PPE and safe systems of work.
  • Identify and report hazards, damp, mould, asbestos concerns, and unsafe conditions.
  • Record work using handheld devices including job notes, materials, and photographs.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain professionalism at all times.
  • Multi-trade capability (basic plumbing, plastering, tiling, decorating).

Vehicle Responsibilities:

  • Drive company vehicles safely and in accordance with UK road laws and organisational policies.
  • Carry out daily vehicle checks including tyres, lights, fluids, damage, and load security.
  • Ensure the vehicle is kept clean, roadworthy, and maintained through scheduled servicing.
  • Report any vehicle defects immediately and remove defective vehicles from use where required.
  • Maintain accurate van stock levels, ensuring materials and tools are replenished regularly.
  • Store and secure tools, equipment, and materials safely when in transit and onsite.
  • Follow fleet policies including fuel use, idling reduction, parking, and accident reporting procedures.

Personal Specification

Essential Criteria

  • Qualified Plasterer (NVQ Level 2 or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge of traditional and modern plastering systems.
  • Experience working in occupied domestic properties and voids.
  • Ability to diagnose plaster, damp, and substrate issues.
  • IT skills sufficient to undertake mandatory training and use in-house APPS.
  • Good communication skills with residents and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-trade team.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Desirable: multi-trade skills such as basic carpentry, painting, and tiling.
