To provide effective team leadership of the Warehouse distribution team. Maintain an adequate inspection service by implementing quality control methods and ensure we meet the individual customer service level agreements. Ensure all paperwork is accurate and the orders are processed using the correct freight and loaded on the relevant courier vehicles with the correct documentation and manifest. Use metrics and KPIs to establish trends in errors made and investigate change for low risk to the company.

Role Responsibilities

  • Plan daily workloads.
  • Ensure that inbound or outbound are despatched/checked correctly and meet customer or CMS SLAs.
  • Ensure all documentation and labelling is correct on all deliveries to match pick note or delivery note and shipping information and customer or CMS SLAs.
  • Ensure customers' delivery address is correct on the despatch label.
  • Ensure that resources are available to cover any areas in the team that may have staff on holidays or sick.
  • Ensure all vehicles have been signed off with the correct paperwork.
  • Ensure a discrepancy log is recorded of all shipping errors by colleagues and fed back to the warehouse management for review and target setting for next working periods.
  • End of day SAP/WMS reports are run to mitigate non-invoiced deliveries.

Stock Management

  • Investigate missing stock and notify stock control when stock cannot be located.
  • Match error trends pre Q.C with stock control reports on discrepancies to highlight problematic SKU, EAN, MPN, housing, quality.
  • Carry out and assist stock takes.
  • Ensure housekeeping measures are in line with company expectations.
  • Resource other areas of the warehouse that may be short staffed or are falling behind on workloads.

Reporting

  • Present weekly errors to management, showing trends, acceptable benchmarking and show what has been implemented to reduce errors.
  • Ensure all customer procedures and customer service level agreements are up to date.
  • Mitigate stock control and customer service reports to drive operational excellence.
  • Prompt management with any re-training or re-evaluation of personnel due to errors.

Additional Responsibilities

  • General & Health and Safety: Ensure that safety is paramount at all times to all colleagues and visitors entering the warehouse. Ensure all non-CMS visitors including drivers are monitored and kept away from stock. The warehouse should remain as secure as possible at all times and unauthorised personnel and visitors should not be left unattended. Undertake other tasks from time to time by the management of the company. Maintain confidentiality on all matters relating to the company, its personnel and operation.
  • Staff Development and Training: Weekly review of staff performance and document improvements. Ensure all training is documented and signed off. Ensure all staff have available time to complete their personal objectives.
