Overview: Real Estate Energy and Infrastructure Associate/ Senior Associate – Edinburgh/ Glasgow. Build your career helping deliver the infrastructure the UK needs to transition to net zero. We’re growing our dedicated Real Estate Energy and Infrastructure team to support projects driving the UK’s net zero transition. You will join a Tier 1 rated team delivering nationally significant energy and infrastructure projects. From major renewables and energy transition schemes, including DCO and CPO projects, you will help turn complex, often first-of-a-kind projects into infrastructure the UK needs.
Responsibilities:
- Advise on the real estate aspects of energy, renewables and infrastructure projects, including onshore and offshore wind, solar, battery storage, hydrogen, EfW, heat networks, nuclear, EV charging and related infrastructure, airports and ports.
- Draft and negotiate key real estate documents, including options, leases, development agreements and other project documents.
- Lead title, access, site assembly and land due diligence work, helping clients identify constraints and unlock deliverable solutions.
- Support major infrastructure consenting and delivery, including DCOs and CPO schemes.
- Work directly with developers, landowners, investors, funders, public bodies and other stakeholders on complex, high-value matters.
- Collaborate across our dedicated Energy Sector Team, with colleagues across real estate, energy, planning, construction, corporate, regulatory and finance to deliver joined-up advice.
- Help supervise and develop junior lawyers, while taking real responsibility for client relationships and transaction delivery.
About you / Qualifications:
- A solicitor qualified in England and Wales, with strong commercial real estate experience and ideally at least 2 years’ PQE.
- Experience of energy, renewables, infrastructure or major development work.
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills, with the confidence to manage complex matters and multiple stakeholders.
- A practical, commercial approach: you can give clear advice, spot what matters and keep projects moving.
- Curiosity about the energy transition, infrastructure delivery and the role real estate plays in making complex projects happen.
- A collaborative mindset and the confidence to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- An interest in contributing to the growth of the team, including through building on existing client relationships and seeking new clients through business development activities, mentoring and wider team initiatives.
