About the Role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen within our leading Capital Markets and Derivatives (CMD) team, working on a wide range of structured finance, derivatives and capital markets transactions.

The CMD team is part of CMS’s Finance practice with more than 100 lawyers and serves a broad client base of financial institutions, investment banks, insurance companies, asset managers, pension schemes and corporate clients.

It operates internationally, collaborating across Europe and globally, and prides itself on quality and client‑centric work.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and negotiate a range of derivatives and structured finance documentation.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Translate legal theory into practical advice.
  • Exercise sound judgement and demonstrate good interpersonal and consultancy skills.
  • Provide excellent presentation and marketing support.
  • Take responsibility for matters, working closely with partners and clients.

Qualifications

  • 2‑5 years PQE.
  • Ambitious and talented in derivatives, structured finance and/or debt capital markets.
  • Ability to learn and apply existing skills to new product areas.
  • Excellent drafting skills.
  • Enthusiastic, energetic and keen to work across a wide range of products and clients.
