Join our team as an Apprentice Emerging Talent Assistant and play a vital role in identifying, supporting and developing our future lawyers. Apprenticeships form an integral role within our team, and we have an exciting opportunity for someone looking to continue their education whilst earning a competitive salary. We can consider candidates in London or Bristol on an 18 month fixed term contract.

About the Role

Joining the award winning emerging talent team offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of our talent. Collaborate with the business to help unlock the potential of our future talent. We are looking for an individual who is keen to grow their knowledge and confidence whilst gaining an understanding of the numerous administrative tasks that are carried out in the team. With the support and mentoring of colleagues, you will develop your skills within the workplace with a view to progressing your career within the team. This role is 5 days a week in the office as all tasks undertaken in this role are purely office based.

In this role you will:

  • Support the acquisition process of all emerging talent programmes to ensure a smooth transition from academia to the workplace.
  • Support with the relationships with law school, universities, colleges and schools to enhance the firm's visibility and reputation amongst potential candidates.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of emerging talent training programs tailored to the needs of the client group and aligning them to the firm's strategic goals and values.
  • Co-ordinating all emerging talent development and acquisition activities to ensure the smooth running of the team.
  • Manage the quarterly emerging talent check-in process.
  • Monitor industry trends and best practice to help inform the emerging talent team of any new developments within the industry.
  • Assisting and taking the lead on assessment days for emerging talent.
  • Taking ownership of all emerging talent processes, including compliance, secondments and the Newly Qualified Solicitor process.
  • First point of contact for all emerging talent related queries.

About You

To support your ongoing learning and development, you will undertake the Business Administrator (with Legal) Level 3 Apprenticeship which is supported by our external training provider. We have created this opportunity for individuals who:

  • have completed school education and would prefer to start their career.
  • would like to leave College earlier than planned to start their career yet must remain in education to undertake a qualification.

Our newly created Administrator Apprenticeship Contract will give you the opportunity of gaining valuable on-the-job learning along with structured learning with a competitive salary. It is for a fixed period of 18 months. As an equal opportunities employer, following that period you may be eligible to apply for other roles advertised in the business.

During your apprenticeship you will become fully conversant in a variety of tasks which the wider team undertake.

Essential qualifications/skills/competencies:

  • Strong IT skills across major Microsoft Office applications, and experience in using databases or case management software.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – written and spoken.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Enthusiastic individual, prepared to take a hands on approach to managing their workload using their own initiative.
  • Excellent proven organisational skills, with the ability to multi-task and keep calm under pressure.
  • Team player with a positive attitude, willing to support the rest of the team.
