Job Description

CMS is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated Assistant Paralegal or experienced Real Estate Paralegal to join our Legal Services Unit in our Sheffield or Manchester office on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract.

The role will be focused on supporting one of our energy and utilities clients with documenting land rights in Scotland and England via servitudes and easements.

This includes managing your own caseload of transactions, taking client instructions, negotiating the deeds and arranging completions.

Responsibilities

  • Managing a busy caseload of transactions, including liaising with the client to obtain instructions.
  • Drafting easement/servitude documentation, negotiating with counter‑parties and carrying out basic title reviews.
  • Updating online trackers.
  • Managing completion, post‑completion registrations, forms, filing, client signing and reporting requirements.

About You

We are looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Paralegal or experienced Real Estate‑focused Paralegal.

You will have a keen eye for detail, the ability to use your initiative and be used to dealing with a large workload.

You must have a strong academic background and may have a degree in law or an equivalent qualification.

Alternatively, you may be working towards CILEX or have previously served as a Real Estate Paralegal.
